Ah, here it is! Palmer Street Press’ inaugural post. (Are you allowed to use that phrase for things definitely not presidential in nature? Question for the ages.) Let me tell you a bit about why this little blog sprang up and what’s in store.

I’m Gillian. (Soft G, like giraffe.) I’m a full-time designer and communications consultant that has been living the freelancing life in Upstate New York since completing my Master’s degree in communications in 2012. I help businesses, charities, schools and creative individuals with everything from website design to large scale rebranding and marketing campaigns. I love what I do. Every day is different and that keeps it exciting and fresh. I’m fortunate that this lifestyle keeps my time flexible and changeable – both qualities that I find intensely appealing! I know that I am extremely lucky to be doing what I’m doing.

Palmer Street Press is my personal creative blog. Here, I’ll be talking about all the things I’m interested in – design, communications, freelancing, creative entrepreneurship and how these ideas effect my life and what I do. I’ll also be sharing what’s new and exciting for sale in the PSP shop. My lifelong obsession with stationary has taken a new (some might say unhealthy, ahem) form and I’m super jazzed to create cards and prints under this creative umbrella.

So in summary, this has done nothing to really clarify what you’ll see here at Palmer Street Press. I just hope that anyone who passes by this corner of the interwebs finds something to take away from what we have here and can find some creative inspiration.
