WEEKLY WISHES NUMBER 1

Hey guys!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I spent the entire weekend packing cards for my little print shop and enjoying as much of the warm weather as I could. We had the perrrr-fect weather on Sunday. Sunny, warm, a little breeze – delightful. I tried to soak up as much as I could because I’m pretty sure that’s the last sign of summer we’ll see here in Upstate NY. Winter is coming – fast!

Today I’m joining The Nectar Collective’s Weekly Wishes link up. I think it’ll be good as I get this little ‘ole blog established to put up some concrete goals and objectives for the upcoming week – wether they’re blog goals, other business goals, or maybe just some stuff in my personal life or around the house that I want to accomplish.

So for my inaugural Weekly Wishes, here is what I’m hoping to get done this week:

1. Take another Skillshare course in hand lettering. I’ve been trying to improve my hand lettering and calligraphy skills this month, and I’m happy at the progress I’ve made, but I’d like to continue to develop that skill. I went through two hand lettering e-courses at Skillshare last week and they were immensely helpful. There are a zillion lettering courses on Skillshare so I’d like to complete one more full course by the end of this week.

2. Have an Offline Afternoon. One day this week, I’d like to spend one whole afternoon just creating. No internet, e-mails, or even checking FB or Instagram on my phone. Just take a block of time, a big drafting table and some supplies and see what happens.

3. Make a packing list for Colorado. I’m headed to Colorado for vacation that is coming up amazingly/scarily soon! I’ve got to get a few more things – namely a suitcase (since my last one bit the dust in Amsterdam), but I should start getting my stuff around for that.

4. Read for at least 45 minutes every day. Since I’ve been out of school (which is uh, a while…) I’ve struggled to just delve into a book and really be absorbed by it. I need to take the time and actually read and not feel guilty about the million other things I should be doing. Part of the deal when your home is your office is that you feel like you should always be doing something productive for your business. I’ve got to lay that to rest and just get reading.

What are your goals for this week?
